FERRY
Westerschelde Ferry provides a ferry service for cyclists and pedestrians to Vlissingen.
The Westerschelde Ferry, also known as the “Westerschelde veerpont,” operates between the cities of Breskens and Vlissingen in the Netherlands.
The ferry is an essential means of transportation for cyclists and pedestrians wanting to cross the Westerschelde river between the provinces of Zeeland and Zeelandic Flanders. It offers a scenic and convenient route for travelers to reach their destinations.
Keep in mind that schedules and services might change over time, so I recommend checking the latest information on the Westerschelde Ferry’s official website or contacting their customer service to ensure you have the most up-to-date details before planning your trip.
The eagle recalls Maximilian of Austria who in 1487 gave permission to dike the salt marshes of Breskens and gave it as a lordship to Philip of Cleves. The eagle is therefore an imperial eagle. There is a seal from the early 16th century on which the double eagle appears.
